Valentine Plans (acrylic). Gail Machlis created the daily cartoon panel Quality Time, which ran for ten years in daily newspapers, including the San Francisco Chronicle and Los Angeles Times. Her work has appeared in numerous publications, including Ms. magazine, Cosmopolitan, New Woman, and The Artists magazine. She also has one collection of cartoons, Quality Time and Other Quandaries, published by Chronicle Books. Represented by Bookstop Literary Agency, Machlis is currently writing and illustrating children’s books and working as a freelance illustrator.
