COVER | Laura Regan
Golden Oldie, (acrylic). Laura Regan discovered the magic of art at age 5, when she colored ruby slippers onto her feet in a self-portrait. She studied at the Maryland Institute College of Art and soon realized that her real love was painting portraits of nature. Her realistic wildlife images have been exhibited at The Lawrence Hall of Science, The Society of Illustrator’s Show in New York, The Monterey Museum of Art, The Contemporary Art Center in New Orleans, and the Children’s Illustrated Art Museum in St. Louis among others. Regan has illustrated 13 award-winning children’s books, including Pierre the Penguin, the story of the California Academy of Science’s most famous African penguin. Many of her images can also be found on her collection of greeting cards. Regan is currently represented by the Jessel Gallery in Napa.
