Ambassador (photo). Gerry Traucht, a Berkeley fine art photographer, is passionately focused on Berkeley’s mystical egrets and all that they reveal about the workings of the planet as well as how the egrets open the garden gate to the beauty of wildlife and the ecosystem in our own backyard and the benefit of caring for parks as masterpieces. Locally, he has had six egret exhibitions in the past few months. You can see these works in two adjacent venues on Kittredge Street: Maison Bleue French Cafe (through April 30) and Berkeley Main Library, the Art & Music Gallery on the fifth floor (April 20 through mid-June). April has been deemed Gerry Traucht Month in Berkeley, as the city of Berkeley is honoring him for his egret photography and his commitment to the local environment. On April 24, Traucht will receive this award at a city council ceremony. See more of his work at www.GerryTraucht.com.
