A Woman Reading

A Woman Reading (drawing, 1983). Milton Glaser orginally made this drawing, published in Drawing Is Thinking (The Overlook Press, 2008), in response to a call for entries for the 1983 AIGA Bookshow. In the world of modern graphic design there is probably no more influential figure than the New York–born Glaser. In 2010, he was the first graphic designer to receive the National Medal of the Arts Award. His illustrations and designs for thousands of magazine covers, book and record jackets, advertisements, posters, not to mention his interior designs for supermarkets and restaurants, and his signature “” logo have placed his work in front of the entire world. For a look at some of his more notable work, also available for purchase, visit miltonglaserworks.com.
