COVER | Christine FitzGerald
Clear Eyes, Full Heart (digital print on canvas). Ohio native and Emeryville resident Christine FitzGerald, with a degree in civil engineering and design and a master's in planning, has integrated her love of art and sciences into a professional planning and design career and has a freelance business restoring and painting furniture. FitzGerald is inspired by yogic philosophy, Jungian dream theory, and beauty from Mother Nature, and often integrates mandalas and repetitive geometry in her work. In her own words, Clear Eyes, Full Heart was "coined in the show Friday Night Lights; this became a mantra of mine during what I experienced as a Kundalini awakening. Through my own eye, and with an abundance in my heart, I was finally able to see with clarity the forest through the trees and the path of my life moving forward." She is one of 115 artists featured in the 32nd annual Emeryville Art Exhibition Oct. 6-28 at 5700 Horton St. For exhibition info, visit www.EmeryArts.org or call 510-652-6122.
