Mia (collage). Erich Fink’s cover collage features his granddaughter, who turns three this month. From his home studio in Montclair, Fink makes collage and personalized greeting cards from photographs, magazine images, textured paper, and a little paint. A native of Austria, Fink–who has a master’s in history–taught art at El Cerrito High School for 33 years and coached soccer at U.C. Berkeley for 20 years. He took a course in collage at Hayward State University 15 years ago and has been "inclined toward the craft" ever since. He has exhibited his work in local coffeehouses and can be reached at (510) 339-9583.

Letting Bygones Be Bygones

But research shows that many of us can benefit from letting go of the past, for better health and a better future. Dr. Fred Luskin, a researcher at Stanford University, leads workshops that help people move on from painful memories and grudges, rewrite their "grievance stories," and get on with life.
